Ketevan Vashagashvili is 26. She has graduated from Tbilisi State University, Department of English Languages and Literature. She is a philologist. When she thinks about her choice, only justification of the already made decision is her strong affection towards literature. Translating literature, what could be more interesting? – she says. But the things turned out differently.
She happened to work everywhere except translating literature. She has translated articles for the monthly magazine “Liberty”. She has participated in translation of “International Standards – Freedom of Expression”, edited by Non-governmental Organization – Liberty Institute. This is her only experience in Translation.
Later she found herself at Public Defender’s Office and worked there for 2 years. Vashagashvili saw that Public Defender in Georgia, in spite of his aspiration, was very restricted. It’s not so easy to preserve the aspiration for a long time, so again she found herself at Georgian Football Federation, at the department of Public Relations and is still working there. But she says it is time to finish accidental practices and do what she really wants.
Now she studies at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management, getting ready for new challenges. And she is going to get married.
